Cargo ships pass through Tanjung Perak, the main port in Surabaya, Indonesia. To enable a larger fleet of container ships to pass through safely, the port has been expanded and dredged to deepen its waters to 52.5 feet (16 meters). The facility’s principal exports are sugar, tobacco, and coffee.
